KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned the suicide blast at Dargah Fatehpur Sharif near Jhal Magsi and expressed grief over the loss of precious and innocent human lives in the attack.
In a statement, the PPP chairman said that terrorists were also targeting Sufi shrines, which had always illuminated brotherhood, non-violence and harmony among the masses. He said that terrorists wanted to impose their violent thoughts upon society, but “won’t succeed”.
Sharing the grief of the affected families, Bilawal pledged that the people and the PPP would stand as an iron wall against the nefarious designs of terrorists.
He also called for provision of better medical facilities to those injured, adding that blood donations should be arranged for their treatment.
In a separate statement, Bilawal took notice of the knife attacks on women, asking the authorities to arrest the attackers.
Bilawal called for strict and swift action against those behind the attacks that left 13 women injured in different parts of the metropolis.
“The PPP will not tolerate [these] attacks on innocent women,” the statement added. “Every mother and sister in Pakistan is a Benazir Bhutto, and it is our duty to protect them.”
It may be mentioned here that five more females, including a 12-year-old girl, became victims of the knife attacker(s) in different localities of Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Wednesday. The assailant(s) targeted the women in Gulshan-e Jamal, Gulshan Roundabout, Dalmia and NIPA Chowrangi, sparking fear among the locals.
